Age:58
Executive Administrative Assistant

I am married and have 3 cats. My main reason to participate is to lower blood pressure and for bone strengthening. Everyone knows that exercise is important – even for just 30 minutes a day. I find it hard to find that time and have decided it is past time to make a lifestyle change. My blood pressure is starting to get high (wonder why?) and I don’t want to have to take medication that requires visits to the pharmacy or doesn’t come from a grape. Bone strengthening is important to my health – osteoporosis – I AM getting older – and I AM going to be the BEST THAT I CAN BE!!

I plan to update with my progress so check back.

I am married and have 4 children, ages 3, 5, 7 and 11. My main reason to participate is to lose weight. Over the summer, I was the heaviest that I have ever been. At one point I weighed 313lbs. and I am sure that it was higher than that. My blood pressure was also getting critically high. I have already begun a diet / exercise program and I have lost about 15lbs. so far. The corporate Challenge will fit nicely into my short term goals. I have set a target of weighing 225lbs. This would represent a weight loss of over 28%. This goal will not be achievable within the 10 week program; my goal for the challenge is to weigh 260lbs. at the end equate to a 13% loss during the challenge. Also, I plan to get my blood pressure back to within the normal range. I plan to update a blog daily with my progress so please check back.

I have lots of reasons for joining the Corporate Challenge. I do have a 10-year High School reunion to go to this month and I need to look GOOD! But I also had my first baby, Cadence, in March of this year so I am still carrying a my baby weight around with me and I feel tired a lot of the time. I also want to make a lifestyle change that will influence my baby girl in her life to stay healthy. In addition, I want to be active and healthy when she gets married and has babies of her own! My husband is participating in a Weight Loss challenge at his work and he has done so well - that in itself is great motivation!

I am married with two boys- Liam 11 and Owen 3. I am joining the Corporate Challenge to jumpstart a lifestyle change for me and my family. I am very competitive so I am hoping that this contest will spur me to make some much needed changes in my lifestyle. I would like to lose weight and gain some muscle tone. My 20 year class reunion is in 1-1/2 years and I want to look as good as I did at my ten year. I am FIRED UP to be a part of this Challenge!!!!!

I have two reasons for joining the Strongwell Corporate Challenge.

#1- I am turning 40 in January and instead of having a crisis and buying that convertible I have my eye on I have decided to be in better shape at 40 than any other time in my life.

#2- I have always been able to keep up with my son Brett who is quite the athlete. I can shoot a basketball, knock the heck out of a baseball, swing a golf club (the ball doesn’t always go where I want it) and defend the net against a soccer ball but I can’t run with him. So I decided to train for a 5K, run in the 5K and then when Brett decides he can spare some time for his Mom these days I can run with him.

Age: You wouldn’t believe it if I told you!

I have 3 daughters, 4 grandbabies and 1 Harley! I’ve always been very active – and such a tom-boy! I’ve never had to worry very much about my weight, even though I was never skinny! But, with age comes ….. well, you know! I seriously want to be more physically fit - watch what I eat and exercise on a regular basis (and not just revving the throttle:)).

My goals are to lose weight, tone muscle and increase my core strength, as part of an ongoing, healthier lifestyle. Taking part in this challenge with lots of my friends should be a ton of fun!

I am divorced and have a 17 year old stepson that I am still very close to. I also have a “son” at home, a six year old Boxer named Nitro that has more energy than I do!

I grew up competing in Horse Shows and another sport or two, and believe it or not 9 years of Ballet. I had a hard time keeping weight on then, but this is now, so I’m ready to slim down and live a healthier life. Also, I am looking forward to being competitive again. :)

Personal Goals:

  • Lose 10% of my body weight.
  • Undo some of the damage my good friends Melissa and Jami caused.
  • Get my girlish figure back.
  • Get back into an exercise routine.
  • Have a blast and kick some butt!

My blood pressure is 118/30. It will be much lower after I win the Iron Man competition.
